Bettona Siamo Noi is my thank you to Bettona for accepting me into their fold. To me, Bettona is a microcosm for what the world should be — a place where everyone is welcomed and accepted. In this series of illustrations I seek to call attention to our sameness and diversity.
AnnaMaria & Zerlinda Santevecchi
Another one of the older families of Bettona, the Santevecchi sisters couldn’t be nicer to me. Recently retired, Zerlinda now shares a building in the corso with Maria and her husband Alessandro. They are a wonderful and tight knit family.
Maria was annoyed with me at first when she saw this illustration and asked, “Why did you make this with my mouth open?” The answer was easy because her mouth is always open, which I mean in the best way. We all laughed. I think it captures her perfectly. Thank you Maria and Zerlinda
