Anneke Bruijn & Giusy Acconciature
Anneke was the first Dutch person I met here in Bettona. She lives in the Centro San Antonio a.k.a the Centro Olandase on the hill just above Bettona. In the 1970’s a group of Dutch people bought the mountain and divided the property into a fixed number of lots. Houses have been built and the community attracted not only Dutch but German, English, and other expats. Today it is a testament to Bettona’s accepting nature and certainly adds to our diversity.
Giusy is the town’s wonderful hair dresser. She’s versatile and does everything from cuts to coloring to dealing with those of us who don’t actually have a lot of hair to cut. When she asks how short I want it, I always respond that I just want more of it. “Can you do that?” Always lively and happy, Giusy has two beautiful boys Filipo and Andrea.
